Mother's Day Special: Mine is an Executive Mommy

Since Mother’s Day is just around the corner, let me help you choose gifts for your Mommy, Mama, Mom, Ma, Nanay, Inay, or simply MOTHER on their special day.

Choosing gifts for someone usually depends on their personality. Like for Mothers, we have the Superwoman, Mrs. Chef, Bookworm Mom, Fashionista Mama, and the Executive Mommy.

For today, I would list the gifts you could give your Executive Mommy. Executive Mommies are those who work for a living to support her family, especially when father can’t do it alone.

And here is my list:

1. Pen
One of the most common and useful gift you can give to an Executive Mommy. She can use this for her notes, signatures, etc. A good quality pen is always a hit for them. Just make sure they can easily find a refill so they can use it always.

2. Business Card Holder/Case
A gift to keep Mommy's business cards in one case. It can also be a handy executive style card case, where she can easily keep and take out business cards during meetings.

3. Desk Accessories
A lovely desk accessory can glow up Mommy's boring desk. It would be nice if she could also use it to unwind, like a simple frame with family picture on it, a mini Einstein Pendulum, a fashionable desk mirror, and many others.

4. Notebook/Planner
A planner for an executive mommy is a sure hit, just like the pen.  A planner will be very helpful for her. Try to get a fashionable one, so that she can bring it anywhere and use it to jot down notes and her busy schedules.

5. Perfume
As you can see in my previous blog Her Top 5 Wishes, perfume is included. It is also a must buy for an executive mommy. She would love to smell good, especially on her busiest days and on meetings.

You can also try to give her gifts such as handkerchief, watch, wallet, bag, etc. However, it is still you who can determine the best gift you could give your Mom on her day. Just trust your instinct!

And here is my list:

1. Clothes
An additional to her collection of fashionable dresses, tops, pants, skirts, scarves, etc. will be a great gift for her. Just make sure you know what type of clothes she wanted, for I am sure you don’t want to get something she will just dump in her closet.

2. Bags/Purses
Bags and purses are one of the most common fashion accessory every woman needs. Women can’t go out without it. Or they’ll consider themselves like a soldier going to the battle without any weapon. Fashionista Mamas have lots of it for sure; they match bags and purses with the style and color of their clothes.

3. Fashion Accessories/Jewelries
As it is stated in my previous blog “Her Top 5 Wishes,” diamonds are woman’s best friend and so jewelry is a treasure for them. Also, fashion accessories and jewelries complete their fashion style. It brings life and glamour to their clothes and to their personality, that’s why an additional to her collection is a sure hit.

4. Makeup/Cosmetics
Fashionista Mamas are also into make-up and cosmetics. It is their additional way of being beautiful. They need it to pamper their selves and to beautify their hair, eyes, face, skin, everything.

A day with Mom is a sure win, especially when you two are doing what she loves doing, like shopping! Mom would surely love to bond with you while shopping for the latest trends of clothes and accessories.

A subscription to her favorite magazine is also a nice catch. She’ll surely appreciate your gift, because she can now receive her favorite magazine at her front door, instead of frequently buying to the bookstore herself.

Mrs. Chef will love anything she can use or an additional to her collection of kitchen stuffs. If it is her passion anything related to that passion is special. So she will surely love the thought.

3. Recipe Book.
Mrs. Chef loves trying new dishes, and so, she will surely love a recipe book. It is the so-called chef’s bible. If you are a little low in budget you may create a recipe book yourself, all you need to do is to search for recipes on the internet and write it in a nice notebook.

4. Customized Apron.
Since they use apron most of the time, it would be so thoughtful of you if you could give her a new apron. An apron will be so lovely especially when it is customized with their names.

For today, I would list the gifts you could give your Superwoman Mothers. Superwoman Mothers are common nowadays; they are the ones who do all the household chores while going to the office for work. She is our knight and shining armour. She is always there for us even on her busiest day.

And here is my list:

1. Dine.

A sumptuous meal treat to mom with the whole family is just as special as any other things in the world. A day with the family always comes first.

2. Flowers. 

Just what my previous blog says: Flowers: They never fails. Every woman love flowers and it can give them a sense of satisfaction. Even I, myself, have no idea why flowers means so much, especially when given by someone special.

3. Spa or Massage.

After a long day of household chores and office works a spa or massage is just perfect. Since its mother’s day, maybe it’s time for moms to pamper themselves with a relaxing massage. 

Tip: Choose a massage that would fit your mother’s needs.

4. Vacation.

Just like spa and massage, a vacation is just perfect. Even a one-day vacation would mean a lot to busy moms; a day without stress, problems, tensions, tiring stuffs is what they really needed. Let this time, be not about you (their children); make this time be about them (mothers). 

5. Work Free Day.

Let’s give Mom a work free day! The whole family may offer to work all household chores for a day like cooking, cleaning the house, washing the dishes, etc. while letting your mom relax and have her “me-time”.

FLOWERS --- They Never Fail

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we'll see again bunch of flower deliveries everywhere. Though,
it is really difficult to understand why girls love flowers. But if you would check Yahoo! Answers, you will see so many reasons. But whatever their reasons are there, there is still one thing that proves to be correct --- that flowers never fail. :)

Now let me list the top five flowers women love to receive. 

1. Roses

They are always on top of the list, because of its beauty and scent. These are the most common flowers men give to their special someone. Men usually give Red Roses to the girl they admire, because it is the easiest way of saying "i love you". While White Roses are usually given to their parents because it signifies purity.

2. Tulips

They are very common nowadays because of its amazing beauty. Tulips beauty is really one of a kind but they don't last very long. Just like Roses, Red Tulips are usually given as a sign of their love to the girl they admire, while White Tulips still means purity. Yellow Roses are also common and I think one of the best Tulips I ever saw. They mean "hopeless love" but are now used as to say "thanks for the friendship" or to say "cheer up".

3. Carnations

Some believes that carnation has a great religious meaning, because they associate it with Mother Mary. While some says it is nationalistic because it is commonly used as a decor by the ancient Greek. But for me, carnation is the "flower of love," because just like love, Carnation has a deeper beauty  that last long (uhmmm i think more than a week without water). Carnation are commonly used to express love and fascination to someone or the easiest way of saying "I admire you."

4. Lilies

Certainly one of the most lovely flowers I ever saw. Other than Lilies being the symbol of purity and everlasting love, they say that when you dreamed of Lilies, it mean you are  hoping for a marriage or a baby. This is mainly because they associate it with Venus, the Roman Goddess of beauty, love, and fertility. That's why Lilies are usually given to brides-to-be and mothers-to-be, because they believe that it is a sign of good luck.

5. Orchids

One of the most popular flowers in the world, because of its elegant beauty and different varieties. This is also known as one of the most pricey flower. And just like its appearance, Orchids, symbolizes love, elegance, and luxury.

Just a friendly reminder:
